VIDEO Listing

The following is a partial listing of what's on tap for the Solar Guard video room. The final schedule will be in cadets membership package and posted at the festival. Each Solar Guard video session will begin with a MATINEE AT THE BIJOU with coming attractions and special messages. Cadets are encouraged to bring any Space related movies, videos or DVDs of the 1950s or early 60s for the video sessions. This is only a small sample of what will be seen at the festival.

Amazon Women on the Moon - Great spoof provided by Cadet Tim Young. Amazon Women on the Moon was a 1980s movie that spoofed watching TV. The movie consists a guy sitting at home, channel surfing of short skits, "commercials", and a few minutes here and there of a 1950s space movie. Tim pulled the space movie segments together to make the short subject we have for viewing. Look for the famous angled "rock" that seems to show up in every Western and Science Fiction movie of the 1950s. A real fun short.

Special messages from Commander Corry and few previews of upcoming events appear in the opening sessions of the video shows.

SPACE PATROL
Space Patrol the early years -1950- "Lady of Diamonds" pre-syndication 15 minute episodes from KECA. Look for the early "Robin Hood" styled SP uniforms and for Kit Corry's famous flubs. These early episodes star Glen Denning (AKA Franklin Mullen) as Kit Corry and Norm Jolley as a heavy working for the Lady of Diamonds. Also listen for the "voice" (Ken Mayer) of Kit's brother Buzz who would soon replace the tongued tied Kit.

Solo Flight to Jupiter - 02/10/1951 Episode - # 7
Happy finds an unwelcome passenger at the Jupiter Spaceport while on his first solo flight. Count the number of times Cadet Happy gets hit on the head. A trend that carries throughout the series.

PICK YOUR favorite Space Patrol episodes. Open the Adobe Acrobat file below and let Cadet Ed know which additional episodes you would like to watch, prior Space Patrol episodes are marked in yellow. Our thanks to Swapsale, Finders Keepers, Magic City and other dealers who have preserved and made these shows available for fans to purchase and watch:

When electrician Vic Murphy is blasted by the electricity of a computer, his intelligence immediately soars beyond genius level and his senses enable him to hear and see things no man has ever before experienced. Stars  Dana Clark, Beverly Garland ( NOT Dr Dale). Look for a famous Child Star from the OUR GANG comedies as a major character.

THE STRANGE PEOPLE OF PECOS October 1, 1955
Radar expert Jeff Jamison believes that his neighbors are spies from outer space. He becomes more convinced when the neighbor's little girl appears to be unable to feel pain.

MOVIES - A few that are available for viewing. Others may be added from Cadets attending.

Cosmic Man
John Carradine stars in this atomic age classic as the mysterious Cosmic Man, a benevolent alien whose motives for visiting Earth are unclear. A classic of 1950s B science fiction in the manner of "The Day the Earth Stood Still". Lyn “Cadet Happy” Osborn is an Air Force Staff Sgt who carries out his duties without getting knock on the head.

Rocketship X-M
During the first attempt to land on the moon (X-M stands for Expedition:Moon) a cataclysmic event occurs and the crew are hurlded beyond the moon on to Mars where an amzazing discovery is made. Three minutes of new footage adn red tint for the martian segments have been added to this classic.

THEM
The classic SF / Horror movie of the 1950s. Special effects, a tight storyline and great actors (which include James Whitmore, James Arness, Edmund Gwenn and the future Davy Crockett Fess Parker) make this a classic 50s atomic end of the world movie.

STAR TREK episodes with Festival guests. The Legarde twins plan to attend the SG video room in their Star Trek costume that they appeared in the I MUDD episode and we hope to have Lee Meriwether in one of the video sessions to watch her THAT WHICH SURVIVES episode. See you there.
