At first, Star Trek fans thought the C-57D was the saucer section from the Enterprise.

Cadet Jim explains that the spaceship that landed on Altair-4 may have inspired the design for the 1701-A Enterprise

Models of the future

The NASA display was next to the Solar Guard display. Cadet Ed admires the next generation of cargo and exploration spaceships from NASA.

The Solar Guard display reminded many that; before NASA there was an earlier space program whose fans followed the adventures of Tom Corbett, Space Patrol, Capt Video, Rocky Jones others from the early 1950s.
